5 out of 5 stars: Finally, a Practical Guide to Adulting That Actually Makes Sense
Reviewed in the United States on April 21, 2026
Format: Kindle
My readerverified score is 90 %. This is exactly the kind of book I wish I had years ago. It breaks down so many overwhelming aspects of adult life into simple, practical steps that actually feel doable. From budgeting and job interviews to communication and self-care, everything is explained in a clear and approachable way. What I really appreciated is how relatable the tone is - it doesn’t feel preachy or complicated. Instead, it feels like getting advice from someone who genuinely understands how confusing adulting can be at first. The sections on managing finances and maintaining a healthy work-life balance were especially helpful for me. I also liked that it goes beyond the basics and touches on things like digital safety, mental health, and personal development, which are often overlooked but so important. Overall, this is a great guide for anyone who feels a bit lost navigating adulthood or just wants to feel more confident and organized in their daily life. Highly recommended for young adults starting out on their own!

5.0 out of 5 stars: All the life hacks you need to know!

Adulting 101 is a great resource for young adults trying to figure out life. It helps them with a budget, communication skills, and life hacks, such as social skills and how to avoid scams. This book has so many things that young adults need to know, but won't ask their parents. I had to learn most of these through trial and error and wish I had this book when I was in my 20s. I'm definitely giving this to my kids! RV score 90%.
Thanks, Tamara. This is the info I shared with my children that they mostly ignored. Lol

Personal growth and development should not just be reserved for the young. Learning new skills and getting better in all aspects of life are lifelong pursuits, which is what makes "Adulting 101" such a compelling read. From the opening chapter on setting a financial foundation, to developing communication skills, career development, learning to cook to developing emotional intelligence and embracing challenges, it all adds up to what we all want to achieve: living a purposeful life. I especially liked the section in Chapter 4 on getting off screens and having a personal life that is not online! Again, a message for kids, young adults and the middle-aged, A good, common sense, practical read by author Sam Matthews.
Thanks, I wrote this for my teens because they won't listen to me. Lol
