The debut short story collection series Path Into Madness by Douglas Dodd will bring a set of new characters you are sure to fall in love with. Kody Bragi, who is always telling a schoolyard tale, Zak Lee, who is competing for his life, Hairy Hermit, who tells Lainey and Dash scary stories in a cabin in the woods, plus a dozen stories with enough ghosts, zombies, and bad customer service to drive you into madness.

5.0 out of 5 stars Creepy and fun

My readerverified score is 100%. Not usually my style of book, but I loved the short stories in here. They were interesting, creepy, fun, and definitely a page turner. My favorite story was the one about the 100-yard dash. The story itself reminds me of the Stephen King book about the walk, but there are fun horror elements added in.

Highly recommend this one!

4.0 out of 5: Stars fright-filled alternative to Halloween candy
Reviewed in Australia

Path Into Madness by Dodd is a spooky, imaginative short story collection perfect for readers, young and old, who love thrills without the gore. With clever twists, eerie humor, and unforgettable characters, it’s a fun, fright-filled alternative to Halloween candy—ideal for sparking readers' imaginations and just the right amount of chill. 5.0 out of 5 stars: Witty, Scary, and Comical

My readerverified review score is 95%. This is a really fun collection of spooky stories told by a top-notch storyteller. These are the kind of scary horror stories that should be shared on a dark, stormy night, or better yet, huddled around a campfire. Boo! Some are short and sweet, while others are longer and more involved. My favorite story is 'What the Hatch.' Get a copy now, Halloween is right around the corner.

Doug, if you send me a picture of your book spine, I'll Photoshop it into the stack of books on the landing page.

Wanted to let you know. I found two typos while reading Path Into Madness.

Ebook page 34 "Ketih jumps up and cheers"

page 58 "panik" more commonly "panic"

When I find these in my books, I correct the original and resubmit to KDP.

Great book!

A lot of these stories reminded me of the movie 'Stand By Me,' which was based on a Stephen King novella. Check it out if you haven't seen it; it's from the 1980s.

Thank you so much for the kind words. It's a work in progress, book two is out This Way To Madness. Where some of the stories continue.
